Initiative is part of the Ibermusicas program and is carried out by ABM and Moinho Cultural
Starting Friday (15), the ‘Diálogos Musicais Ibero-Americanos’ (Ibero-American Musical Dialogues) project begins, which is part of the Ibermusicas program, and is organized by ABM (Associação de Bandolins da Madeira (Portugal)) and the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (Brazil). The project will take place every Saturday until June, and the activities are online.
On Friday (15), Norberto Cruz, from ABM, Márcia Rolon and conductor Eduardo Martinelli, from Moinho Cultural, will meet to talk about the initiative. The meeting is virtual, starting at 2 p.m., Mato Grosso do Sul time, and will be broadcast on the social media channels of Moinho Cultural and ABM.
‘Diálogos Musicais Ibero-Americanos’ seeks cultural connection between Europe and America. The intention is to offer knowledge in the field of music, through masterclasses, conferences and concerts, with artists and agents of relevance and recognition in the musical and cultural field.
“With the pandemic, we saw how virtual exchanges can be rich, enlightening and, above all, multipliers of knowledge. ‘Diálogos Musicais’ is an opportunity to learn more and exchange knowledge beyond our borders. It is a unique opportunity for those who want to dive even deeper into the world of music,” says the executive director of Moinho Cultural, Márcia Rolon.
The project has supporters, such as: the Portuguese Republic, DGArtes, the Regional Government of Madeira, the Regional Secretariat of Tourism and Culture, the Regional Secretariat of Education, Science and Technology, Portuguese Republic – Culture, Instituto Camões – Institute for Cooperation and the Portuguese Language, Funarte and Ibermusicas. First weekend schedule
On Saturday (16), one of the masterclasses planned in the project’s schedule already takes place. The first is with Hamilton de Holanda (Rio de Janeiro) on “Improvisation, composition and interpretation on the 10-string Mandolin.” The meeting will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (MS time) and has 25 available spots.
The meeting will be held via the Zoom platform. Those who register will receive the link at their registered email. After the masterclass, each participant will receive a certificate of participation, in digital format (PDF).

The Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano
Located in Corumbá-MS for 18 years, the Instituto is a civil society organization (OSC) that offers dance, music, technology and computing classes to children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability in Corumbá, Ladário, Puerto Suarez and Puerto Quijarro; in addition to a community engagement and bonding service between institution, family, school and participant, and training of creative performers for young people and adults, through the Companhia de Dança do Pantanal, Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal and Núcleo de Tecnologia. Its mission is to reduce social vulnerability in the Brazil-Bolivia border region, through access to cultural and technological assets.
In 2020, Moinho was recognized by Instituto Doar with the Selo A (Seal A), qualifying as a certified organization. This recognition legitimizes and highlights the professionalism and transparency of the OSC, aiming to further encourage a culture of giving.
