The Pontão de Cultura (Culture Hub) of Mato Grosso do Sul, Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano, hosted, last weekend, the course Textile Printing and Screen Printing, taught by architect and designer Ana Paula Badaro and by Marcelo Monastério, who works with screen printing.
For Alan Lopes, a course participant, the training was an alchemy. “It’s a mix of colors, of chemistry really, from creating the design to going to the printing. It was a new, curious experience. I hope other courses will be available for our development,” he noted.

the purpose of this course was to pass on a bit of our knowledge and exchange ideas. It was a huge exchange over these two days of the course. We learned and passed on the little we knew. The idea is to give a start to this hugely important culture hub in Corumbá and to continue with workshops for other groups,” noted Ana Paula Badaro, who is also at the helm of Badda, a brand known for surface design on handmade products.

Moinho Cultural has been a Ponto de Cultura (Culture Point) since 2004 and, this year, was also certified as a Pontão. Pontões de Cultura (Culture Hubs) are entities or institutions that coordinate a network of other culture points, developing actions of mobilization, training, mediation, outreach and integration with society.
