Institution is also among the 100 best NGOs in Brazil; awards ceremony took place last night (22), in São Paulo

The Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Cultural Mill Institute) was chosen as the best NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) in Brazil in the field of culture and the best in Mato Grosso do Sul. In addition, the institution was chosen as one of the 100 best NGOs in the country. The award was presented on Friday night (22), in São Paulo.

The award is an initiative of the Instituto Doar – Certificadora Social and the Instituto O Mundo Que Queremos. The two organizations, creators of the initiative, are responsible for the management, strategic planning and development of the Award’s criteria.

At the website www.premiomelhores.org, you can find the names of the organizations recognized for their good practices in areas such as governance, transparency, communication and funding. Five major themes are assessed by the Organizing Committee: cause and strategy, representation and accountability, management and planning, funding strategy, and communication and accountability reporting.

This is the third time Moinho Cultural has been among the country’s 100 best NGOs, and now it has also been chosen as the best in the cultural field. Previously, the institution had already been awarded as the best NGO in Mato Grosso do Sul.

Moinho Cultural’s executive director, Márcia Rolon, points out that the award, besides being a recognition, is a celebration of the institution’s 20th anniversary, marked this year.

“Receiving the title of Best NGO in the field of culture in the country is an achievement that fills us with pride and reaffirms the relevance of the work we do at Moinho Cultural. This recognition reflects the joint effort of a dedicated team, committed partners and, above all, the children and young people who inspire us daily to transform lives through art and culture. This award is also an incentive for us to keep promoting inclusion, creativity and opportunities where they are most needed. We thank everyone who is part of this journey and believes in the power of culture as an engine of social transformation,” says Márcia.

Over its 20 years of history, Moinho Cultural has already served more than 25 thousand Brazilian and Bolivian children, in the border region between Brazil and Bolivia, in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul.

The Prêmio Melhores ONGs (Best NGOs Award) also recognized the best NGO in the country, the best in each state and region, the best small-scale organizations, as well as the best in each cause, such as education, health and culture, for example.
