Fifteen participants from the Instituto Moinho Cultural are among the members of the Programa Vale Música (Vale Music Program) who will represent Brazilian music in two concerts at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre

| Participants from the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Moinho Cultural Institute), from Corumbá (MS), together with other members of the Programa Vale Música, will take Expo Dubai visitors on a musical journey through Brazilian landscapes and regional culture. The young performers will take part in two concerts, on February 19 and 20, at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre. Carried along by the music, O Trenzinho do Caipira (Bachianas Brasileiras No. 2), by Heitor Villa-Lobos, one of the best-known South American composers of all time, will lead the audience on an enchanted journey through Brazil’s natural richness, through the sounds of the Caatinga, the Pantanal, the Amazon and the Atlantic Forest, arriving, in a gentle sway, at Rio de Janeiro. The performances mark 200 days until the bicentennial of Brazil’s independence. The concerts will be broadcast on the Expo Dubai channel, at 5pm Gulf Standard Time, or 10am Brasília time.
The biomes also symbolize the home states of the participants – Pará, Mato Grosso do Sul and Espírito Santo. The orchestra, made up of 45 young musicians, will be conducted by maestros Eduardo Martinelli (MS), Renan Cardoso (PA) and Eduardo Lucas da Silva (ES), with Caio Fortunato, Igor Amaro and Lucas Anízio as concertmasters, respectively. The 15 musicians from Mato Grosso do Sul, who are part of the Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal (Pantanal Chamber Orchestra) and will perform at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre, are: Eduardo Martinelli (conductor), Caio Fortunato de Haro (violin), Gleison da Silva Ferreira (violin), Jorge Priésley da Cunha (guitar), Philip Maurício Andara (flute), Rafael Henrique Morais (cello), Camila Gabriela Cáceres (viola), Henrique Lourenço de Carvalho (double bass), José Maikson Alves (cello), Diego Alberto Añez (viola), Felipe Gonçalves Arruda (clarinet), Roque Junior Rosa (violin), Emanuel Teixeira e Silva (violin), Maria Eduarda de Oliveira (violin) and Melissa Wiletty Lazo (violin). They leave Campo Grande (MS) this Thursday (10th) heading to Vitória (ES), where they join the Orquestra Vale Música for three days of rehearsals. On the 15th, they arrive in Dubai. All precautions regarding Covid-19 will be taken, following health authority guidelines, such as wearing masks, social distancing and testing.  Musicians from the Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal and the Programa Vale Música perform internationally This will be the first time most of these young musicians have traveled abroad and had the chance to perform outside Brazil. For maestro Eduardo Martinelli, it is an honor and a career milestone to be one of the musical directors of this initiative. “What is happening has immense magnitude for everyone involved in the Programa Vale Música. We are working on an artistic show of professional level, in which the young musicians will be one of the main attractions at a major international event,” he says. The Programa Vale Música is an initiative of the Instituto Cultural Vale (Vale Cultural Institute) that aims to encourage and strengthen the training of children, adolescents and young people in concert music in Brazil. The program creates a collaboration network among partner orchestras to enhance teaching and learning in the music projects sponsored by Vale, with exchanges between students and teachers, classes and artistic residencies. The Programa Vale Música currently has five training hubs in the states of Pará, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and Espírito Santo, involving more than 1,000 students and 250 professionals.
