Currently, Bolivian children and young people are served at the institution, in Corumbá

The Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano met with the consul of Bolivia in Mato Grosso do Sul, Simons William, Durán Blacutt, and the mayor of Puerto Suarez, Mauricio Montero Yorge, to discuss the creation of a municipal law that would establish the cultural fund of the German Busch province.

The executive director of Moinho Cultural, Márcia Rolon, represented the institution at the meeting, which took place at the Consulate of Bolivia in Corumbá. Another topic discussed was a partnership with the city of Santiago de Chiquitos and the creation of a Cultural Center in Puerto Suarez, using the full methodology and expertise of Moinho Cultural.

“A few years ago, Moinho prompted the creation of some public policies in Puerto Suarez. Now, we are again seeking not only partnerships, but also to foster public policies for the cultural sector,” says Márcia.

According to Márcia Rolon, these partnerships are a dream that has been maturing for 18 years. “I believe that, with this administration, we will manage to make it happen. We have to work at the border. We are a border community. It is our culture that allows us to build a culture of peace. This is only possible through art, dance, music. The time has come to value this encounter that only the border can give us,” she argues.

Since it was founded in 2004, Moinho Cultural has served more than 23,000 children and adolescents in the border region. Currently, about 400 are being served by the institution.
