The Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano begins the year even closer to the people of Corumbá. The Roda Moinho project, which has existed for more than five years, gets a new version this year: Roda Moinho Humanizado (Humanized Roda Moinho).
The intention is to bring a bit of the art produced by Moinho Cultural to health and shelter institutions in Corumbá, such as basic health units, nursing homes and hospitals. The initiative always counts on the participation of the institution’s musicians.
“The project starts this year in a different way, more humanized indeed. We’re going to health centers and hospitals to bring a bit of music to people who, at that moment, need it. We’re going to use this tool that we have here at Moinho Cultural, because we believe that this more humanized process can be a comfort in a difficult moment and, above all, contribute so that, by the end of a health treatment, for example, it becomes something transformative within each person impacted by the project,” explains the coordinator of Roda Moinho, Emanuel Teixeira.
The previous week, Roda Moinho Humanizado visited the Pedro Paulo de Medeiros Basic Health Unit and finished the week at the Asilo São José (São José Nursing Home), where it brought a bit of Carnival rhythm to the elderly residents.
The project’s next action takes place on Friday (24), at the Ênio Cunha Basic Health Unit, in the Cervejaria neighborhood.
In 2022, Roda Moinho carried out 10 actions in Corumbá and Ladário – most of them in schools in the region. In total, more than 200 children and adolescents were impacted.
Among the activities developed are storytelling, music education, handicrafts, among others. The actions always aim at human development through the arts, just as happens at Moinho Cultural.
