The song will be released next January 21, at 9pm, at an event organized by the Liga Independente dos Blocos Carnavalescos de Corumbá (Corumbá Independent League of Carnival Blocks) (MS).
The 18 years of Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Moinho Cultural Institute) will be honored at the Corumbá Carnival 2023. The song by Bloco Águia da Vila, composed by Pedro Castro, will be released next January 21, at an event organized by the Liga Independente dos Blocos Carnavalescos de Corumbá, 420 km from Campo Grande.
“Art was born facing the Pantanal. There’s a symphony at Moinho Cultural. Seeing the children’s smiles, pure happiness. Transforming lives in the city. Fly, eagle! Carry the feeling in your heart. Where wheat once grew, today emotion is harvested. The seed of a dream became a cultural center,” reads an excerpt of the song.
For the bloco’s president, Piano, the idea since last Carnival was to honor a regional icon, and the thought took shape after a presentation by the institution.
For the executive director of Moinho Cultural, Márcia Rolon, the tribute is an embrace to the more than 23,000 children, adolescents and young people already served by the institution.
“It’s something incredible for Moinho Cultural, it crowns our 18 years of existence. But, most importantly, it places the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano as a heritage of Corumbá and of our state. Being recognized as a cultural heritage of the State and turned into a samba song, parading down the avenue, is an immense affection and embrace for all of us. We are very happy and we honor this incredible moment,” she says.
