Lights, camera, transformation! This has been the routine of young people and teenagers taking part in the free video creation and editing course at Sesc Lab, in Corumbá (MS). The result of a partnership between Sesc Corumbá, the production company Eureka Filmes, and the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Moinho Cultural Institute), the initiative immerses participants in the world of audiovisual production and awakens new talent on the border.
Since the first semester, the students have been exploring the fundamental stages of audiovisual production, from script writing to editing with professional software, along with filming techniques and equipment handling. At this stage, they are shooting an original short film with locations provided by Moinho Cultural, experiencing filmmaking firsthand.
“During the course, we discovered a lot of talent, both on the technical side and in creativity. Seeing this happen is something that leaves me deeply happy and fulfilled,” says Reinaldo Delgado, director of photography at Moinho Cultural and instructor for the course through Sesc.
With attentive eyes and hands-on effort, the students share their enthusiasm. “At first I didn’t even really know what it was, but the course covers so much more than I imagined. It adds a lot for anyone who wants to work with video. I became so interested that I want to pursue this field,” says student Samara Salles, 19.
For young Rian Villalva, the experience with cameras and scriptwriting was a positive surprise. “I never thought I would be acting, filming, working with cameras and making a short film. It’s been something surreal, which will certainly add a lot to my future. Today we’re filming the short and everyone is very involved, learning together,” Rian shares.

has a new class, which began this past Monday, August 4th, and will experience the full schedule of theoretical and practical classes throughout the semester.
“Invisível” is the title of the short film produced by the students
Addressing the theme of artificial intelligence, the short film produced by the Sesc Lab students is titled “Invisível” and explores the relationship of teenagers and young people with the indiscriminate use of artificial intelligence, without guidance from parents or guardians.
In the short film, a teenage girl narrates her day while sharing, with naturalness and affection, her relationship with her best friend — someone who accompanies her on the way to school, in silent conversations, in moments when no one else seems to notice her existence. Amid reflections on friendship, presence, and connection, the short film delves into the daily life of someone who, even in the midst of a crowd, can feel invisible. But little by little, what seemed simple transforms. And when the constant presence is revealed, the film poses a delicate question: what happens when we create someone so we won’t be alone?
