The Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Moinho Cultural Institute) announces a change in its administrative structure, in accordance with the institution’s Bylaws. After an election and inauguration held at the Ordinary General Assembly on July 30, Mônica Barbosa Macedo was elected Executive Director of the Institute, a role she takes on after more than a decade working at the institution. Márcia Rolon, meanwhile, remains as Artistic Director, leading the house’s creative and cultural process.

Born in Minas Gerais and a resident of Mato Grosso do Sul since 2010, Mônica has worked at the Moinho since 2011 and has already held positions such as Educational Coordinator, Sociocultural Manager and Project Coordinator. A sitting counselor on the Conselho Estadual dos Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente de Mato Grosso do Sul (State Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents of Mato Grosso do Sul) — currently its chair — she holds a degree in History and specializes in Fundraising and Project Coordination for the Third Sector.

“I know the history, the challenges and the dreams of the Moinho up close. The Moinho family can count on my commitment and dedication to further strengthen institutional management and ensure conditions for projects to keep transforming lives on the border,” says Mônica Macedo.

The founder and Artistic Director, Márcia Rolon, reinforces the importance of the partnership: “The Moinho is a collective construction. With Mônica’s arrival at the Executive Board, we are certain that institutional management will continue with solidity, while we keep dreaming, creating and expanding our artistic and sociocultural actions. This alignment between management and creation is essential for the Institute’s future.”

The change marks a new cycle in the governance of the Moinho Cultural, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to transparency, sustainability and the union between management excellence and creative power.

At the same assembly, the new members of the Advisory Council and the Fiscal Council were elected, who will serve for the 2025–2028 term:
