The NGO Gaia+, six times elected one of the 100 best NGOs in Brazil, in partnership with the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano, considered the best culture NGO in the country in 2024, is holding an awareness event for local educators in Corumbá (MS) between this Monday (20) and Tuesday (21).
The initiative features Rodrigo Ruschel and Valentin Conde, social educators from Gaia+, and has as its main goal to promote concrete practices for inclusion in the school environment. In addition, Gaia+ seeks to introduce Corumbá’s educators to the concepts of the international program SEE Learning (Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning), of which the NGO is the primary affiliate in Brazil.
A structured and transformative program
The event is divided into four sessions, with practical activities and dynamics exploring essential themes such as well-being, emotional self-regulation, and inclusive education. The highlight is the creation of a support protocol, which will serve as a concrete guide for local educators to implement inclusion strategies in their institutions.
On the first day, participants are invited to reflect on compassion in education, well-being, and self-regulation strategies through activities such as the “Resilience Wheel”. Educators also explore real-life examples and learn nonviolent communication (NVC) techniques to strengthen shared humanity.
On the second day, the focus turns to the structured implementation of a self-care routine and the strengthening of support networks. Concepts such as interdependence and invisible triangles are addressed to reinforce the importance of collaboration between professionals and institutions. The event also introduces educators to the foundations of SEE Learning, inviting them to take part in future training sessions promoted by Gaia+.
Direct impact on local education
“We want Corumbá’s educators to leave this gathering not only inspired, but with practical tools and a clear vision of how to include all children, especially neurodivergent ones, in a more compassionate and inclusive learning environment,” explains Eduardo Pacífico, founder and director of Gaia+.
