The show will be performed Thursday (9th) through Saturday (11th), at Moinho Cultural, in Corumbá

Starting Thursday (9th), participants, dancers and musicians from the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Moinho Cultural Institute) will once again take the stage, in front of an audience, to present the show marking the conclusion of 2021 activities: Moinho In Concert – O Outro Quebra-Nozes (The Other Nutcracker). For now, besides a great deal of rehearsal, the excitement of facing the audience directly from the stage, as well as the anxiety of seeing it all come together, are two feelings always present among the artists.

In all, there will be three performances, all in person. However, due to the pandemic, the shows will be closed events, only for participants’ families and invited guests. The good news is that afterward everyone will be able to follow the story. TV Morena (a Globo affiliate) will broadcast the show in full during the year-end programming, after which it will be available on the Moinho Cultural Oficial YouTube channel.

Moinho In Concert – O Outro Quebra-Nozes is produced by Moinho Cultural, with the Ministério do Turismo (Ministry of Tourism) and the Government of Mato Grosso do Sul, through the Fundo de Investimentos Culturais (Cultural Investment Fund, FIC).

The lead role of the show, O Outro Quebra-nozes, will be played by 13-year-old Rafaelly Andrade Campos. “The show is amazing and will make a lot of people’s hearts race. It’s going to be a great show. I hope everyone enjoys it. I’m working really hard to get everything done perfectly,” she said.

Also eager for the performance is 11-year-old Ana Clara Vernochi Rosa. “I’m nervous about all of this, but I think I’ll manage to make everything turn out really well. The theme is very cool. I had heard the story before, but I had never seen the movie. The rehearsals have been a lot of fun,” recalled the young artist.

For Daniel Castilho, the chance to be part of the show increases his sense of responsibility. “I’m really enjoying coming back to Moinho and even more so starting with this show. It takes a lot of effort, because many people won’t get to take part. If I’m going to take part, I have to work hard. I expect it to be something incredible, like in previous years,” Daniel says.

O Outro Quebra-Nozes involves 91 dance participants from Moinho Cultural plus 9 dancers from Cia de Dança do Pantanal (Pantanal Dance Company), as well as 31 music participants and 23 musicians from the Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal (Pantanal Chamber Orchestra, Ocamp). In addition, the show involves at least 50 more people from the technical, operational and administrative staff.

The show has artistic direction by Márcia Rolon. The musical concept and arrangement are by maestro Eduardo Martinelli, while the concept and adaptation of the original story were handled by Rolando Candia and Márcia Rolon. The choreography was conceived and adapted by Rolando Candia, Mayda Riveiro, Rudy Candia and Wellington Júlio.

The Instituto Cultural Vale (Vale Cultural Institute) is the master sponsor of Moinho Cultural. The institution also has sponsorship from Itaú, Visa, Brinks, BTG Pactual and Comper. Its partners are J.Macêdo, Fecomércio MS, Sesc and Itaú Social.
