The story of Valério Reis, a violinist trained by Moinho Cultural, was filmed by TV Globo in Rio de Janeiro for a segment on Jornal Hoje
Talent born on the border between Brazil and Bolivia has gained national exposure. Young musician Valério Reis, trained by the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano, in Corumbá (MS), was featured on Jornal Hoje, on TV Globo. The segment, filmed in Rio de Janeiro, presented the violinist’s trajectory, marked by his initiative of holding a benefit concert to fund the continuation of his musical studies. The son of a Brazilian father and a Bolivian mother, Valério represents the cultural strength of the border region. His story caught the attention of the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira (Brazilian Symphony Orchestra) following the repercussion of the concert organized by the musician himself.
“I held a benefit concert to raise funds so I could go to Rio de Janeiro. During the trip, the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira team got in touch saying they had seen the concert and wanted to know more about my trajectory”, he says.
The repercussion led to the segment being filmed for national broadcast. “It all happened very fast. We filmed at the Cidade das Artes, and I was able to tell my story and show a bit of my path in music”, he relates.
Valério now plays with the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira Jovem (Brazilian Youth Symphony Orchestra), after being approved in a selection process. The achievement is the result of a trajectory built with dedication, as well as of the opportunities generated throughout his training.
For years, the Instituto Moinho Cultural, through the Programa Vale Música (Vale Música Program), has maintained exchanges with the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira, building bridges between young musicians from the border region and major institutions across the country. It was through these experiences that Valério broadened his repertoire, strengthened his training and took new steps in his career.
The segment also highlights the support received throughout his training at the Instituto Moinho Cultural, an organization recognized nationally for offering free artistic and educational training to children and adolescents from the Corumbá region and the border with Bolivia.
For Valério, the national visibility represents an important opportunity to keep advancing in his musical career. “The idea is that, by telling my story, new opportunities may arise. Music has always been my dream, and being able to show this trajectory to all of Brazil is something very special”, he says.
