´Circuito Plataforme-se´ brings dance shows, video-dances and performances to Corumbá-MS

On this Thursday (30) and Friday (31), the ´Programa Plataforme-se´ (Platform Yourself Program) arrives in Corumbá-MS with the ´Circuito Plataforme-se´ (Platform Yourself Circuit), a showcase of stage works (dances and performances) in urban and alternative spaces; all free for the population. The project is being carried out with support from the Cultural Investment Fund of Mato Grosso do Sul (FIC), the Culture Foundation of MS (FCMS), and the Government of the State of MS.

Conceived by dance artists Jackeline Mourão and Ralfer Campagna, the ´Programa Plataforme-se´ is a space for creation, experimentation and dissemination of dance that emerged in 2017, with the initial interest of researching the relationships between body-dance, camera and city. From this initiative came the intervention-show ´Deriva´, three resulting video-dances, the ´Mostra CTA – Corpos Transeuntes em Ação´ (CTA Showcase – Passing Bodies in Action) and the series ´Fronteiras´ (Borders) (in which local artists and artists from various regions of Brazil perform the city and its life stories).

“We complete five years of activity in 2022, so in this edition we present another unfolding of the actions, this time with the participation of four artists from Campo Grande: myself, Ralfer Campagna, Reginaldo Borges and Febraro de Oliveira. In the actions we perform alone, together and/or combined with shows/interventions,” says creator Jackeline.

Exchange and Video-Dance Showcase

The program begins on Thursday (30), at 4:30 pm, with an exchange between dance artists Jackeline Mourão and Ralfer Campagna, poet and writer Febraro de Oliveira and the Cia de Dança do Pantanal (Pantanal Dance Company), from Corumbá. Then, at 7 pm, a Video-Dance Showcase will be held at the Instituto Moinho Cultural, open to the public.

Dance and Performance Showcase

On Friday (31) ´Plataforme-se´ brings dance shows and performances to various corners of the city. From 9 am, at the Fair (near the Poliesportivo), poet and writer Febraro de Oliveira performs ´Reclame o seu amor aqui´ (Claim your love here). A performer, in his relationship with the city, proposes a historical revisit of public squares, streets and houses. Using the song ´Melodia Sentimental´ (Sentimental Melody), by Heitor Villa-Lobos, hummed by the performer, he passes through places with an easel written “Claim your love here.” Upon finding a place to sit, he remains seated for at least two hours, waiting. The performer positions himself in listening mode, where whoever comes has the right to eviction.

In the afternoon, at 4 pm, Jackeline Mourão and Ralfer Campagna perform the intervention-show ´Deriva´ at Praça da República. In ´Deriva´, the two performer-creators (pilgrims and fellow countrymen) move sometimes in sync, sometimes not; sometimes free, sometimes under commands. The performer-creators delimit surfaces in the vastness of contemporary thinking. They suggest interactivity with irony and discuss the suffocation of ideas with passion. Senses that clash and connect in this tangle of possibilities that is the human city and the human-city. They show Contrasts. Demarcation, mapping, invasion. Freedom, fluidity, interactivity… Motivation.

Then, at 4:30 pm, the Cia de Dança do Pantanal presents the show ´Migrantes´ at the Bus Terminal, on Antônio Maria Coelho street (former transfer station). How many mediterraneans is our world made of? Some gigantic, gaining strength and voice in newspaper news. Others so tiny that they only fit in the footprints they leave in front of us. Some visible, generating commotion and empathetic demonstrations. Others so pale, that only verbal abandonments can reach them.

And also, on Friday (31), at night, at 7:30 pm, artists Jackeline Mourão and Reginaldo Borges present ´Procedimento #6´ at the Instituto Moinho Cultural. In this performance a woman places herself on stage, challenges herself on a journey through unknown places, an environment created/invented and modified in real time. Through video clips, sound design and samples, Jackeline Mourão and Reginaldo Borges integrate technology and performance, using audiovisual resources and videomapping techniques. Body and technology mix in the live scene, seeking other ways to relate and create through sensations, memories, fears, fictions and realities.

“We will also produce two mini-documentaries resulting from the project’s actions, with audio description resources and sign language interpretation, which will be made available on the Plataforme-se website,” concludes Ralfer. Besides Corumbá, the ´Circuito Plataforme-se´ will be held in Ladário, Miranda, Dourados, Fátima do Sul and Nova Alvorada do Sul.
