Cia de Dança do Pantanal celebrates 8 years with free performance at Campão Cultural 2025

In the month it marks eight years of history, the Cia de Dança do Pantanal (Pantanal Dance Company) performs for free at Campão Cultural 2025, in Campo Grande. The chosen show is Janela do Dia (Window of the Day), which will be staged this Saturday (29), at 6 pm, at the Concha Acústica Helena Meirelles, in Parque das Nações Indígenas.

With artistic direction by Márcia Rolon, choreography by Wellington Julio and soundtrack by composer Renata Rosa, the production proposes a sensitive reflection on everyday life. It also invites the audience to look toward the horizon and embrace the possibilities the present offers, leaving the past behind with lightness and hope.

Movement, emotion and Pantanal identity

The show comes to life with performer-creators Agustin Salcedo, Aline Espírito Santo, Izabelle Paiva, Kelven Alex, Luz Coelho, Marcos Souza, Nayara Conceição and Núbia Santos. Through dance, each one expresses the essence of a new dawn, conveying emotion and authenticity in their movements.

For dancer Núbia Santos, who has been part of the group since its founding, the celebration is also a moment of recognition. “I am a product of this project. Seeing how much we’ve grown moves me. After all, the Company is unique in Mato Grosso do Sul and deserves to be seen by the whole world”, she says.

Teacher and dancer Taiandi Moraes also reflects on the importance of the company in her life. “The Company represents self-knowledge, persistence and connection. It is also essential for new generations and for all of us who live off art”, she points out.

A history built on dreams

Founded in 2017, the Cia de Dança do Pantanal was born within the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Moinho Cultural Institute), in Corumbá (MS). The project emerged from Mostra Corumbá – Santuário Ecológico da Dança and, since then, has transformed lives through art.

According to Márcia Rolon, this eight-year milestone is only the beginning of a promising trajectory. “We created the Company with children who dreamed of the stage. Today, we are taking the Pantanal to the world. That’s why we want to keep inspiring and transforming lives”, highlights the executive director.

Support and encouragement for culture

The Cia de Dança do Pantanal has the support of Instituto Cultural Vale, the Ministry of Culture and the Government of the State of MS. This year, the project’s continuity is also strengthened by Pronac (National Culture Incentive Program) and sponsors such as JMacedo, BTG Pactual and Too Seguros.
