The Pontão de Cultura Moinho Cultural – Unindo os Pontos (Culture Hub) of the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Cultural Mill Institute) is taking part in the 6ª Teia Nacional dos Pontos de Cultura pela Justiça Climática (6th National Network of Culture Points for Climate Justice), which runs until May 24, 2026, in Aracruz, in Espírito Santo. Moinho is not merely a participant in the Teia Nacional: it is a product of it. Born alongside the Política Cultura Viva (Living Culture policy), the Institute was the first Ponto de Cultura (Culture Point) and the first Pontão de Cultura in Mato Grosso do Sul, with 21 years of uninterrupted work on the Brazil–Bolivia border and a presence at every edition of the Teia Nacional.
At the 6ª Teia Nacional, the Pontão Moinho Cultural is actively involved in the coordination spaces, with accredited representatives at the 3º Encontro Nacional dos Pontões de Cultura (3rd National Meeting of Culture Hubs) and the 2º Fórum Nacional de Gestores de Cultura Viva (2nd National Forum of Living Culture Managers), contributing to shaping the cultural public policies that will guide the next ten years of the Programa Cultura Viva (Living Culture Program) in Brazil.
The presence at the event is also a direct outcome of the Teia Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul (Mato Grosso do Sul State Network), held on January 30 and 31, 2026, at Moinho Cultural’s own headquarters in Corumbá. The gathering brought together Pontos e Pontões de Cultura, artists, public managers, and communities from different parts of the state, with debates focused on the Plano Nacional de Cultura Viva (National Living Culture Plan) for the next ten years, and culminated in the election of the delegates who represent Mato Grosso do Sul at the national stage.
“The Teia is always a space for coming together, for listening, and for collective building. When the Pontos e Pontões de Cultura gather, we strengthen the network, share experiences, and expand the capacity to mobilize so that public cultural policies keep moving forward”, says Márcia Rolon, artistic director of the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano and Mato Grosso do Sul’s representative on the Comissão Nacional dos Pontos de Cultura (National Commission of Culture Points).

The Pantanal on the Teia Nacional stage
Beyond its work in the public-policy spaces, the gathering also hosts the institution’s artistic production. On May 23, at 8 p.m., the Cia de Dança do Pantanal (Pantanal Dance Company) performs at the Auditório Raiz of SESC Formosa with the show “Guadakan”, selected from among hundreds of artistic acts that applied to be part of the Teia Nacional’s cultural program. Admission is free and open to the event’s accredited audience.
Since its 2022 premiere, “Guadakan” has been seen by more than 5,000 people and has toured several Brazilian states and Paraguay. In 2026, the show was part of the program of the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Migratory Species (COP15-CMS) and of UNESCO’s Femina Vox International Forum, affirming the national and international reach of the Central-West region’s artistic production. The work translates into movement and music the identity of the Pantanal biome, its cross-border cultural connections, and the relationship between art, territory, and nature.
The 6ª Teia Nacional, with the theme “Pontos de Cultura pela Justiça Climática”, brings together more than four thousand accredited people, including cultural agents, delegates elected at the state stages, ponteiros (Culture Point members), artists, masters of traditional and popular cultures, researchers, and representatives of the Ministério da Cultura (Ministry of Culture).
The program features more than 200 activities across 140 hours, highlighted by conversation circles and debates on topics such as Cultural Heritage and Climate Change, Environmental Licensing and Climate Justice, Popular and Solidarity Creative Living Economy, Knowledge of the Territory and Food Knowledge, National Arts Policy and Living Culture, as well as plenary sessions, artistic experiences, workshops, and the Feira da Economia Criativa e Solidária (Creative and Solidarity Economy Fair).
The initiative is carried out by the Comissão Nacional dos Pontos de Cultura, organized by the Prefeitura de Aracruz (Aracruz City Government) with support from the Ministério da Cultura and the Federal Government. More information about the program is available at www.gov.br/culturaviva/pt-br/
