Literature, music and dance come together to celebrate the power of a masterpiece. “Fernão Capelo Gaivota” (Jonathan Livingston Seagull), a classic of literature by Richard Bach, is an ode to the freedom of flying ever farther, and it is this feeling that inspires the show of the same name that the Orquestra Ouro Preto (Ouro Preto Orchestra) presents alongside the Cia de Dança do Pantanal (Pantanal Dance Company), on October 5, at 11 a.m., at the Grande Teatro do Sesc Palladium, as part of the Série Domingos Clássicos (Classical Sundays Series). The performance is part of the special children’s month program at Sesc Palladium.

Tickets cost between R$15.00 and R$30.00 and can be purchased online and at the Sesc Palladium box office.

The Série Domingos Clássicos, held by the Orquestra Ouro Preto in partnership with Sesc Palladium, reaches 2025 celebrating a decade of achievements. Created in 2015, the project has established itself as one of the most consistent initiatives for building audiences for concert music in Belo Horizonte, offering the public excellent, accessible performances marked by artistic diversity.

“Fernão Capelo Gaivota,” a best-seller written by Richard Bach, tells the story of a seagull for whom flying is not simply an act of locomotion. Flying is an art and, as such, must be trained, practiced and shared like any other, generating great transformations. A narrative about freedom, learning and love, brought to life on stage with music, singing and dance, in an adaptation by conductor Rodrigo Toffolo and with original music by Tim Rescala.
