The Pontão de Cultura (Culture Hub) Moinho Cultural Unindo os Pontos hosts an innovative artistic experience: a sensory exhibition inspired by the Pantanal, a product of the Laboratório Artístico (Artistic Laboratory), a creative space dedicated to experimentation and research in the field of visual arts. Admission is free and can be visited Monday through Friday, from 8am to 11am and from 2pm to 5pm.

Created by visual artist Leoni Antequera, the Laboratório Artístico seeks to integrate different forms of expression, such as painting, music and dance, and revive ancestral techniques through the use of natural pigments and organic materials taken from the Pantanal biome itself. The initiative aims to foster an authentic connection between the local community, its natural landscape and its cultural heritage.
“All the works in this exhibition were made with earth, giving them a unique texture. It’s also sensory: you can feel the scents of nature and touch the works. I’ve lived in São Paulo for five years and I’m working on a very interesting project that investigates the Pantanal and its people. For the first time, we are exhibiting this work, and everyone is invited to enjoy it. In April, we’ll offer classes and produce murals”, says Leoni Antequera.

The Pantanal, considered one of the richest and most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet, serves as inspiration for this artistic immersion. Besides being a natural sanctuary of singular beauty, its history is laden with symbolism and myths, including its ties to the old Jesuit missions.

The Pontão de Cultura Moinho Cultural Unindo os Pontos was chosen as the host of this project for its relevance as a hub of culture and education in the region. The space will provide a suitable environment for holding various activities throughout the year, such as: multisensory exhibitions; creative workshops; performances combining music and dance; and artistic murals inside and outside Moinho Cultural.
With more than 50 solo and group exhibitions held in Latin America and Africa, Leoni Antequera’s work is recognized for its impact on environmental education and for reviving the region’s indigenous cultures. Her experience and research on the Chiquitania, Amazon and Pantanal regions inspire this new initiative.
