This Friday, October 18, state lawmaker Paulo Duarte (PSB) visited Instituto Moinho Cultural, in Corumbá, accompanied by mayor-elect Dr. Gabriel (PSB) and deputy mayor-elect Bia Cavassa (PSDB), to deliver a parliamentary earmark worth R$150 thousand.

Received by the institution’s founder, Márcia Rolon, who also served as Paulo Duarte’s deputy mayor in Corumbá, the state legislator spoke with the children and adolescents served by the NGO, which over its 20 years has already transformed the lives of more than 23 thousand young people in situations of vulnerability and social risk in the border region.

Moinho offers Ballet and Classical Music classes, Contemporary Dance, Computer Science, School Support, a Community and Bonding Strengthening Group, among other activities, benefiting children and adolescents from Corumbá, Ladário and the Bolivian towns of Puerto Suárez and Puerto Quijarro.

The funds from the earmark will be used to purchase technology and security equipment for the institution.

Two other earmarks

Also on Friday, the 18th, Paulo Duarte delivered two other parliamentary earmarks to social institutions in Corumbá. In addition to Moinho Cultural, Cidade Dom Bosco (Missão Salesiana) and Asilo São José were included. Together, the three earmarks total R$250 thousand in funds, which will be used for maintaining and improving the services offered by the institutions.
