The OCAMP (Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal / Pantanal Chamber Orchestra) performed, together with members of the Orquestra Jovem do Moinho Cultural (Moinho Cultural Youth Orchestra), this Tuesday (19), at the event celebrating the 80th anniversary of Ribas do Rio Pardo. At the Parque dos Ipês, the 28 musicians presented the concert “Temas de filmes” (Film Themes), a true musical journey through the great classics of world cinema.
The mayor of Ribas do Rio Pardo, João Alfredo Danieze, thanked the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano, based directly in Corumbá, for bringing a bit of what is produced in Mato Grosso do Sul to the celebration of the municipality’s anniversary.

“We want them to come back. This project is maintained by the Lei Rouanet (Rouanet Law). Companies like Vale subsidize this magnificent project. Who knows, maybe one day we could have a small outpost of Moinho Cultural in Ribas do Rio Pardo?” suggested the mayor, during the event.

Music teacher from Ribas do Rio Pardo Jehu Lucas, 25, said that OCAMP’s performance in Ribas do Rio Pardo was “significant.” He teaches in the “Banda Gilberto Fogaça” project, founded by his father. “It’s very significant for us to reinforce the musical scene of our city. We could see that the project (from Moinho Cultural) is well established, with very good musical quality. Hearing the OCAMP was a huge gift and a pleasure to be able to watch this concert,” he said.

The concert ‘Temas de filmes’ (Film Themes) has a special repertoire, prepared with nostalgia and emotion so that the audience can immerse itself in the universe of the seventh art. It is an emblematic concert, a true sonic adventure featuring great classics.
For Vitória Elisany, 17, a member of the Youth Orchestra, the performance was an opportunity to show her potential as a musician. “We rehearse all year long to prepare for these trips and give our best and show the potential that we have,” she says.
The trip to Ribas do Rio Pardo was Vitória’s first with the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano, but she has already been at the institution for seven years and, since she was 11, has dedicated herself to the violin.

The executive director of Moinho Cultural, Márcia Rolon, highlighted the importance of integration with other municipalities. “Moinho Cultural has existed for 20 years thanks to partners, supporters and a lot of determination to carry transformation through art forward. Ribas do Rio Pardo is experiencing a unique moment in its history, of growth and expansion, and taking part in such an emblematic anniversary is an honor for us. We want, and we work, for this integration to always happen and for Moinho Cultural to be present in every corner of our State,” she said.
