The Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Cultural Mill Institute) has applications open for this year’s selection process. Applications can be made until next Sunday (29th) and are exclusively online. To be enrolled, the participant must be between 6 and 9 years old (completed), be enrolled in the public school system, and have a family income of at most three minimum wages. Additionally, it is necessary to live in Corumbá, Ladário or Bolivia. After confirmation of enrollment, parents or guardians will be informed by phone about the selection process.
“It is essential that parents or guardians provide correct information so that we can get in touch to inform them of the selection process date, which takes place in person. Additionally, if the participant is approved, it will be necessary to present the requested documents,” explains Moinho Cultural’s executive director, Márcia Rolon.
Moinho Cultural’s program lasts eight years, and during this period, children and adolescents have contact with music, dance, literature, among other artistic forms of expression.

The institution
Moinho Cultural is a civil society organization that offers children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability in Corumbá, Ladário, Puerto Suarez and Puerto Quijarro, classes in dance, music, technology and computer science. The ongoing training offered by the institution lasts up to eight years.
Moinho also works on training creative performers for young people and adults, through the Companhia de Dança do Pantanal (Pantanal Dance Company), Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal (Pantanal Chamber Orchestra) and the Technology Center. The institution’s mission is to reduce social vulnerability in the Brazil-Bolivia border region, through access to cultural and technological assets. Since the start of its activities, more than 23,000 children and adolescents have already been served by Moinho.
