Performance will be on August 25, at 8pm, at Teatro Glauce Rocha
Singer Tetê Espíndola and OCAMP (Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal / Pantanal Chamber Orchestra) take the stage together to present “Acústicas da Natureza” (Acoustics of Nature), during the Encontro de Música Clássica 2022 (2022 Classical Music Meeting), on August 25, at 8pm, at Teatro Glauce Rocha.
The meeting celebrates the artist’s 44-year career and also Tetê’s return to the stage, after two and a half years without performing, as well as other important career milestones.
“It was an opportunity that came up. An invitation from Eduardo Martinelli and Moinho Cultural. That came up at the beginning of February and, for me, having gone two years without performing on stage, it was a moment of decision. The project involves my compositions with the craviola, and there’s a series of coincidences this year: 44 years of career, 40 years of the symbolic LP that is ‘Pássaro na Garganta’, 40 years of a project of mine called Tetê Acústica. So, these are some coincidences of fate that made me think: ‘no, I’m not going to miss this opportunity to record a new album at this moment'”, says the singer.
The musical partnership will give rise to a new album, recorded live. To that end, OCAMP has intensified rehearsals and dedicated itself even more so that everything turns out as expected.
According to conductor Eduardo Martinelli, Tetê Espíndola is a hugely important figure on the music scene, who has already shared the stage with “great geniuses of Brazilian music”.
“This responsibility is enormous, because Tetê Espíndola has partnerships and work done with the most important figures of Brazil’s national creative scene. As the musical arrangements get finished, the musicians have the responsibility to practice, study, clear up all doubts, do rehearsals. It will be a live recording, which is extremely complex. This preparation is being carried out with great responsibility on the part of the musical preparation and of OCAMP”, states Martinelli.
Tetê Espíndola recalls that, some years ago, she had already done work with OCAMP and with musician Marcelo Loureiro.
“But now it’s a new moment for the Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal. I thought: ‘Wow, this experience is going to be amazing for me. Both for me and for the musicians, because my music is a very different, very special music. This experience with OCAMP will show the side of my composition that is a mix of popular music, where I include the roots, the border, with classical music, which I’ve had in my veins since childhood. The arrangements are wonderful”, the singer reveals.
For the executive director of Moinho Cultural, Márcia Rolon, Tetê is a reference in Brazilian music and, for OCAMP, developing a project together with the singer represents a new milestone.
“OCAMP was born within Moinho Cultural with the goal of giving professional training to young South American talents, and showing, through musical repertoires, all of our expression and cultural diversity. In recent years, OCAMP has performed in Brazil and in other countries. Now, we’re moving on to a new challenge and also a new milestone in our history: joining the great history of Tetê Espíndola to produce a live album. It’s a collective effort that adds a great deal to us and makes us proud”, assures Márcia Rolon.
