Cia de Dança do Pantanal (Pantanal Dance Company) begins second stage of dancer selection

The Cia de Dança do Pantanal, of the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Moinho Cultural Institute), began today (28) the second stage of the selection of new dancers. For the second stage, an immersion was prepared, running until Friday (4), for the dancers selected in the first stage of the selection, in addition to the 2021 members.

During the five days of immersion with the Cia de Dança do Pantanal’s godmother, Beatriz de Almeida, and choreographer and director Chico Neller, both from Campo Grande, all candidates and dancers are being assessed and reassessed to join the group, which is undergoing a reformulation this year.

“We thought about creating a true immersion so that the candidates get to know the Cia de Dança do Pantanal, and have an experience of what we expect and want. That’s why we brought these two guests who are part of our company’s history, precisely to allow this experience to truly happen. For this year, 2022, we have big dreams to fulfill and we need to be prepared, that’s why the dancers who already belong to the company are also being reassessed”, says the executive director of Moinho Cultural, Márcia Rolon.

In the first stage of the selection, more than 30 dancers applied. Candidates from Mato Grosso do Sul, the Federal District and São Paulo were selected.

The Cia de Dança do Pantanal turns five years old in 2022. Created in Corumbá, within the Moinho Cultural, the company aims to promote dance and the Pantanal, with repertoires that include classical and contemporary pieces.
