The event, which began this Friday, November 12, Ninhal da Dança is free and takes place at Praça Generoso Ponce, in Corumbá. The action is carried out by the Municipal Government of Corumbá, through the Fundação de Cultura e do Patrimônio Histórico (Culture and Historical Heritage Foundation).
On the first day, the Companhia de Dança do Pantanal (Cia de Dança do Pantanal) took part in the program with the participation of two Duos of performer-creators, who created during the period of isolation. The great challenge was presenting them on a stage open to the public. During the pandemic, the Cia’s performer-creators created more than 60 solos, and only now do they have the opportunity to perform in person.
Two choreographies were presented. The first is ‘Sobre nós’, with dancers Pedro de Barros and Kauan da Cunha. The second is ‘Toca aqui sem tocar’, performed by dancers Aline S. Espírito Santo and Kelven Alex. Both choreographies are by Wellington Júlio.
On Sunday, the Cia performs with OCAMP
One stage and many cultural expressions. That’s how the performance of the Companhia de Dança do Pantanal accompanied by the Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal (OCAMP) (Pantanal Chamber Orchestra) will be. Both are part of the activities of the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano (South American Moinho Cultural Institute) and will perform on Sunday, the 14th, as part of the event’s program.
The executive director of Moinho Cultural, Márcia Rolon, explains that this performance is the result of a truly vibrant blend. “It’s a true union of music with dance. The dancers’ performance will be set to live regional music, with the presence of the Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal on the same stage,” she says.
The combination, according to Márcia, is challenging. “Classical ballet will be paired with regional music, showing the Companhia’s versatility,” she assures. One of the regional songs in the repertoire is Merceditas.
Children and adolescents participating in the Formação Continuada (Continuing Education Program) of the Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano also take part in the event’s general program with the Duo de Gatos and the choreography Canoa. The Instituto Moinho Cultural Sul-Americano
Located in Corumbá-MS for 16 years, the Institute is a civil society organization that offers dance, music, technology, and computer classes to children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability in Corumbá, Ladário, Puerto Suárez, and Puerto Quijarro; in addition to services promoting social bonds and strengthening ties between the institution, family, school, and participants, and training of performer-creators for young people and adults, through the Companhia de Dança do Pantanal, Orquestra de Câmara do Pantanal, and the Technology Center. Its mission is to reduce social vulnerability in the Brazil-Bolivia border region through access to cultural and technological resources.
In 2020, Moinho was recognized by Instituto Doar with the Selo A (Seal A), qualifying it as a certified organization. This recognition legitimizes and highlights the OSC’s professionalism and transparency, aiming to further encourage a culture of giving.
